About
Ephereal is run by me, a 20-something year old arts (communications) graduate, Jaclyn Tan, from Perth, Australia. This website is an online portfolio of drawings and various designs I have done over the past few years, as well as an art blog and a collective of free downloads!
I have been designing practically since I was 11 years old, and messing around in Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and Frontpage are some of the earliest memories I have of doing something creative on the interwebs. I have had a few long breaks in between the years however- between high school and uni, web/graphic design is always something I can turn back to and enjoy when I need an outlet to express myself.
I’ve had a multitude of sites during the past decade on hosted and free servers – some of which I have virtually forgotten/don’t exist anymore.
Many of these were on Geocities and Freewebs, back in the day…and unfortunately I can’t even access them anymore because they’ve been deleted.
Since shutting down my old blog at elusionerie.com, Ephereal is now the main website where you may observe my ever changing creative style and read on my inspirations and happenings. I’m currently doing a 365 postcard project so be sure to check back daily for a new one!
Ephereal – meanning fleeting grace. The moment of positively unreal awe which I’m sure everyone has experienced at some point, and the fragility of how little it happens and how short it lasts. Like the momentary inspiration of a sunset, or the start of a new day, temporary moments of pure inspiration and the revelling in life’s beauty is really what drives my art and effectually this entire site.
